Meet the Chiropractor

Hello, my name is Allison La Voie and I am a Chiropractic physician and the owner of Shield Family Chiropractic. I am a native to Rapid City and am excited to be back in the area and closer to my family! You might know my parents, the Sewells, who own The Little Print Shop downtown! I have been happily married to my husband for 10 years and have a 2 year-old daughter, whom I adore!

I attended SDSU for undergraduate college and received multiple degrees in Biology, Microbiology and Spanish. Afterward, I worked in the medical field as a certified nurse assistant, where I was injured and learned first-hand about how chiropractic care can get somebody back to work quickly after an injury. It was after this I decided to become a chiropractor instead of a medical doctor.

I attended University of Western States in Portland, Oregon where I graduated in September of 2020 and was an associate chiropractor in the Black Hills area until I decided to open my own clinic in September 2024. With a passion for healing, I focus on helping people recover more quickly through personalized chiropractic treatments and health care recommendations.
