Meet the Chiropractor

Hello, my name is Allison La Voie and I am a Chiropractic physician and the owner of Shield Family Chiropractic. 

I was born and raised in Rapid City and am so excited to be back and closer to my family! (You might know my parents, the Sewells, who own The Little Print Shop downtown!) I have been happily married to my husband, Nathaniel, for 10 years and have a 2 year-old daughter, whom I adore! 

Outside of the office I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family, making jewelry and painting. I also sing on the worship team at my church most Sundays.

I attended SDSU for undergraduate college and received multiple degrees in Biology, Microbiology and Spanish. Afterward, I worked in the medical field as a certified nurse assistant, where I was injured and learned first-hand about how chiropractic care can get somebody back to work quickly after an injury. It was after this I decided to become a chiropractor instead of a medical doctor.

I attended University of Western States in Portland, Oregon where I graduated in September of 2020 and was an associate chiropractor in the Black Hills area until I decided to open my own clinic in September 2024. With a passion for healing, I focus on helping people recover more quickly from injuries and get out of everyday pains, so they can get back to the things they love!
